Liam Young

found himself doing the majority of his shopping online with one category proving particularly difficult – clothing. It’s the one example where you need to touch, feel and try on items before making a purchasing decision. The fact that you can’t online makes it hard to discover new brands and often left him with laborious returns to deal with. These were a hassle and the experience offered by delivery companies felt far removed from what retailers offered in store. So he founded Harper to fix it for shoppers and to help retailers provide in-store experience levels to those they served online. They do this through a network of mobile sales associates known as Style Concierges. It’s working well and growing strongly, for clothing shoppers and for retailers. These include Jigsaw, ME+EM, Victoria Beckham, LK Bennett and Selfridges, and they are enjoying growth in customer acquisition, larger baskets and improved retention.
